these snaps are manufactured from a low quality steel and get open after a change of 4 to 5 flies or 1 snagging of a tree or grass. I had to close them with my plyers all the time. I am not sure they will resist a fighting fish. I don't recommend this product.

product works as needed. Got old and hands don't work as well as they use to. These allow me to do quick changes with little pain.

I have a day touring kayak that I troll out of. As you can imagine paddling and sitting in a confined space makes changing lures difficult. I ordered these before and have been using them non-stop since. I actually put a snap on the end of my leader so I can simply snap on whichever lure I want. Some lures with very small holes or those that came with leaders on them like a wedding band I simply attached a snap to the leader or lure to start with. Be careful if you bend a snap, and also check that the holes are closed even on the snap end. Any small gap and you can lose your fish or your lure. Use needle nose plyers to gently press any gaps closed, and don't take a chance! Strong and versatile. Ordering another bag!

I have extremely shaky hands so I uses these Thornton have to spend ages trying to get my fishing line for an eye of a fly why they work for me but can't guarantee that work for you
