1963 brachte ein Lederhandwerker mit dem Namen Sante Mazzarolo eine zukünftige Ikone hervor. Mit Sitz in der kleinen norditalienischen Stadt Asolo und mit der mehrjährigen Alpensternblume als Namensgeber hat Mr. Mazzarolo begann mit der Produktion der ersten Produkte mit dem Alpinestars Moniker. Damals etablierte sich eine neue Sportart namens Motocross und wurde in ganz Europa sehr beliebt. Sante ist sich des Sports sehr bewusst, erkannte eine Gelegenheit, seine Talente und seinen technischen Scharfsinn anzuwenden, um eine neue Art von Schuhen zu entwerfen, die den schützenden Bedürfnissen und Anforderungen dieser schönen und dennoch brutalen Form der Athletik gerecht wird. Der revolutionäre Stiefel, den Mr. Mazzarolo produziert würde zu einem Archetyp für Motocross-Schutz werden.
Kurz nach der Gründung des Unternehmens in seinem hochmodernen Hauptsitz in Maser, Norditalien, begann Sante an einem neuen, revolutionären Stiefel für lokale Enduro- und Motocross-Fahrer zu arbeiten, die begonnen hatten, Fahrräder aus Übersee zu importieren und den Sport des Offroad-Motorradrennsports zu etablieren. Sante's Boot wurde sofort zum Branchenführer und zum Maßstab für Rennleistung. Die Entwicklung begann ab dem Moment, in dem der erste Stiefel produziert wurde, mit Hilfe des Feedbacks der Fahrer, und in den frühen 1970er Jahren hatte Roger de Coster Alpinestars seine erste Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft Auszeichnung gebracht.

Elastic came apart from the mesh first time I put them on and then snapped don't waste your money. Very poor quality. Not even worth 1 star.

The inner straps that hold them in place came off completely on both sides after first use, still works and provide good protection considering how sleek they are but they’re gonna be kinda loose once the straps snap FYI

These are very comfortable and I really liked them at first. But there are 3 major issues that killed these for me.1. There are internal straps that keep tension on your calves so they don't slide down - on my 8th ride with these one of them started sliding down. When I reached down to pull it up the strap literally fell out of the bottom. Completely detached and now I can't use this one at all because it won't stay up.2. The outer material is too weak to last. If you ride flat pedals with pins, the stretchy material will get torn apart if the pins ever make contact. Mine have little shreds in them after only 8 rides (one month). I wouldn't expect these to last the season.3. Non existent support. I contacted the seller for a refund over a week ago and... Crickets.Other thoughts:I wore Dakine knee pads for 5 years and they are still good. I got the Alpinestars for the shin protection, but what I got instead is ripped off. These are a sub par product.

I had a slide with these and they worked well and that was the first time I used them. However, the second time I put them on the elastic strap that keeps them from slipping broke off on one, and as you can see from the picture the one on the other side is about to break too. This is clearly because the straps aren't sewed in properly. Shame as this is supposed to be a good brand.
