wanst sure what to expect from this suction cup - I have been laying slabs for years without the aid of one but curiosity got the better of me so I figured I see if they were worth having...the short answer is yes for many cases they are indeed worth having.Operation could not be much simpler - pop the cup onto whatever you ar wanting to lift, hold it flat andhold down the on button. The pump starts and a red LED lights when the correct level of hold is reached, a green LED lights and you are good to lift away. To disengage the cup simply hit the on button until the middle LED shows and the vaccuum is automatically broken.punp the plunger with your thumb until the on board gauge reaches the green and you are good to lift. al.I was extremely suprised just how powerful the hold the suction gives on to slabs - even very heavy ones, even 1.2m x 0.6m porcelain is held securely, although you still have to lift the bloomin things. The stated weight maximum is 230KG which if accurate is very impressive. For me these suction cups are a bit of a game changer: manoeuvering slabs is a doddle and it means no more getting fingers trapped when slabs are close together.Accessories wise theres a protective plate for the cup to sit on between uses to keep the surface clean in order to get a good vaccuum, a charger for the internal battery and a very handy but slightly flimsy blow moulded case.I really like this suction cup for slabbing but it is useful any time you are lifting anything that is awkward (providing it has a fairly smooth surface). At £50 for the price is very reasonable.

This appears solidly built from various rubber and plastics and weighs in at just over 1 kg.Frankly I'm surprised that a vacuum pump can be fitted inside something so small.A simple long press of the button starts the pump and it quickly creates a vacuum on a smooth surface. The pump cuts off when ready to lift. The suction bond is strong, but a little bit of you will always worry that something might go wrong. It is supplied in a blow moulded case with instructions and charger.Frankly the charger lets it down. It feels cheap and as others have mentioned the lights are somewhat erratic. A simple red for not charged changing to green when charged would suffice.Over all it's a good bit of kit. I'm hoping that it will cope with everything I throw at it.

I've tried this now with a variety of different surfaces and am seriously impressed with how well it works. It's one of the easiest gadgets to assist that I have and works phenomenally well, you simply press and hold into place. Hold the power button and it will automatically create the correct level of suction.Once it's locked on it holds firm and the handle provides a good area to grip, which is comfortable and accommodating for larger or smaller hands. To release you simply double tap the power button, it will deflate and release with ease.I've used this on tiles, steel sheeting, glass, aluminium and slate. It holds everything perfectly and doesn't damage either. What's more is the fact it's kept together in a decent hard-wearing case and it's also wireless. Once charged you don't need to worry about tripping over cabling, you don't need to manually pump and the process is simple.
