100 times better than the cage, I have my peripheral vision back! Vision just like a visor protection of a cage, this just changed my game! Great product and it fits perfectly on my IMS5.0L Bauer helmet which was not listed on the compatibility but I think all the Bauer stuff is pretty interchangeable, excellent product!

I like the full face shield since I want the protection playing defense. I switched to these from a full wire cage because I hated seeing the "bars" in my view constantly but wanted to keep the wire cage around my nose and mouth. These work great and are the perfect combination of protection and visibility. I've never had an issue with fogging, but I do use "hockey spit" to clean the visor before each game.My only issue with these is the second game I wore them in I took a stick to the face and it caused a "smudge" into the visor which I can't remove. I would love if there was a replacement available for just the visor portion so I don't have to re-buy the entire shield.

After playing for a while with a visor, I had to go back to the cage (for insurance reasons). I could not cope with playing with an impeded vision so I purchased this Hybrid shield.I am totally satisfied by this product. The vision is excellent and it does not fog up at all (I clean the visor with an anti-fog spray). If you need a break, the visor can stand in an open position by itself. It is not a lot heavier than a regular cage.The only negative point I can think of is the price. I am guessing these shields will gain popularity in the next years and we will be offered cheaper ones.If you are hesitant and you just need a push : GET IT !

Good visibility, decent (but not great) scratch resistance. Stays fog free about 80% of the time and fog rarely affects visibility much. Would recommend but trying different product to replace this after 6 mo. of use. Switching due to personal preference, this product would have lasted much longer.

1st time i ever used a face mask at all in hockey and really had no major issues. Field of vision is amazing, and I didn't suffer any restriction to oxygen or something. Definitely glad I got the mask after I took a good stick to the mouth and just not worth it anymore. No issues during play and felt secure even with only one chin strap buckled.Consider the following before buying. I have a CCM helmet that I bought in Scandinavia and it doesn't quite screw into the forehead holes so well. I got it to mount, but one of the screws is canted pretty well. Doesn't affect the raising of the mask though. Sides screwed in no problem.An old military trick was putting soap on the inner side of mask and buffing off to prevent fogging. I did that, lightly without really trying and glad I did. About 10 into 3rd period it started juuuuuust barely fogging around the bottom middle of mask.The size was a bit bigger than I expected. I have a pretty big melon, not the most huge, but overall a big head. Figured I needed a Large mask. I think I could have easily gotten away with the medium as my sides barely hit their mount. The fit is a bit canted in general because of the forehead screws, but again, not an issue.
