Habe mich für diesen Wecker entschieden, da ich genau dieses Modell vor etwa 30 Jahren geschenkt bekommen hatte.Schöne, pure Form, Weckfunktionennsuper, alles bestens.Bleibt abzuwarten, ob dieser auch 30 Jahre hält…

Der Wecker ist ein Klassiker, schlichte Design, handliche, SEHR kleine Maße, aber ich finde den Preis für einen Wecker, dessen Zeiger nicht einmal in der Dunkelheit leuchten, sehr hoch. Die Qualität ist jedoch bisher gut und wir sind dennoch zufrieden. Aber er ist eher als Reisewecker geeignet als für den täglichen Gebrauch auf dem Nachttisch.

Schöner, kleiner Wecker

Iconic little travel clock that is also accurate and quiet. It has an alarm and side light which fades instead of a typical on/off seen in other clocks. Small details like this make this clock a joy to use. The design is simple, clean and easy to read.

Hat einen ca. 20 Jahre alten Wecker von Junghans ersetzen sollen, der genau so aussah. Im Prinzip guter, günstiger Ersatz. Bisherige Nachteile:- Das Einstellen der Uhrzeit mit dem Stellrad auf der Rückseite ist pfrimelig. Beim Junghans konnte man den Einsteller herausziehen und damit einfacher drehen- Der Wecker ist jetzt nach 15 Monaten kaputt gegangen, keine äußerlichen Beschädigungen, bleibt aber immer bei 16:00 stehen und geht nicht weiter. Ich hoffe mal das das ein Einzelschicksal ist, aber deswegen gerade mal 3 Sterne. Wenn der Ersatz das auch kriegt gehe ich auf 1 Stern, wenn der 2 Jahre durchhält erhöhe ich auf 4 Sterne ;-)

Update: I actually found Brown website and there you can see all their models and sizesand there are larger alarm clocks then this one.I have been buying and using the Brown alarm clocks for many years and the strange thing I noticed is that they get smaller.. and smaller.. and smaller.. and smaller and smaller.. okay you get the idea.This clock is sOOOOOOOOOOOOOO small that I laughed when I opened the box.I am trying to find some commonly used object to give you the idea of the size..If you take One Dollar Bill.. this alarm clock is about the height of the dollar bill width andabout one third of the length of the bill. It is really really tinny.It is so tinny that you have to look at it quite hard from a distance of your bed tomake the arrow if the light is any bit less then perfect.Like this was not enough they make the setting it so difficult that it spins your head.Unlike most clocks that you can easily grab the turn thingy to adjust it or you canuse your thumb to turn this thing has two round dials to set the time and the alarm timebut!.. they are so small and so flat that no tricks works .. the only way to set themis actually use your fingernail of the opposible thumb and index situationand insert your nails into the groove and turn it that way.Very unpleasant and creepy situation and if you by chance keep your fingernailsvery short or have big fingers then good luck to you!I think that this should be named in all honesty a Toy Brown or Baby Brown clockbecause of this tinny size.I would say it is about one half or one htird at most of what the Brown clocks used to be.I would think that this clock is great for travel and if you have nimbly fingers butif you want to use it for everyday work then it is kind of funky idea.Does it work? Yes. I inserted the battery and it started working. It is silent however its seconds armdoes not run smoothly fluidly like many clocks but rather jumps one jump per secondI like that as opposed to fluid movement so that is one plus.Also if you insist on getting it and if you don't need to change the alarm time often then you are also in luck as once the time is set all you have to do is to just pull up the tab on the top to activate the alarm or push it down to deactivate so that way you don't need to set anything other then that daily,just remember to pull out that thing in case you want to wake up in the morning.It has a side light, that is good as you can press it to see the time at night. .. IF you find it firstin the dark on your night stand that is :).. as it is so small.. did I already say it is small? LOL LOL LOL..the alarm clock has three sound levels and frequency.. one is slilent and normal the next is louder and more frequent and the last one is loudest and almost constant beep. sound level is good for normal person to wake up by.It has the snooze button located on the top. I wish it was the same as the light ashaving to locate the light on the side is a bit more tricky when you are half asleepand much easier to smuck it on the top.So If I could have it my way, I would ask Braun to kindly bring back the original size of the clock.Ideally also those versions that you can clap to silence in the morning.

Da ich neue Wecker brauchte wollte ich dieses Mal Qualität kaufen. Es sollte ein großer Wecker und ein kleiner Reisewecker sein. Als Reisewecker entschied ich mich endlich für einen Braun. Wollte ich schon immer Mal haben, war mir bisher aber zu teuer. Eigentlich ist der Wecker sehr chic, handlich, leise, gut ablesbar und hat ein sehr ansprechendes Alarmmuster. Der Alarm warnt erst leise vor, bevor er dann lauter wird. Das reicht manchmal schon und so kann man schnell abschalten und vermeiden, dass auch die Partnerin/der Partner mit geweckt wird. Die Lieferung erfolgt ohne Batterie.Aber nun zum Problem: Der Wecker hat jeden Tag etwa eine halbe Minute auf die originale Zeit verloren. Das erste Mal fiel mir dies zwölf Tage nach Inbetriebnahme auf, als der neue Wecker sechs Minuten nach ging. Ich stellte ihn erneut nach der Funkuhr und hatte nach zwei Tagen wieder eine Minute Verlust. Eine Uhr, die ihre einzigen beiden Aufgaben: die korrekte Anzeige der Uhrzeit und die zeitgenaue Alarmierung, nicht erfüllt, ist einfach null Sterne wert.Problembehebung: Ich schrieb den vermeintlichen Hersteller "Braun" und den Verkäufer an. Meine Nachricht an den Markensupport wurde wohl erst auf Englisch übersetzt und nach UK zur Zeon Ltd. weiter geleitet, von wo aus ich dann an die Firma Albert Mebus (die Marke mit den Billiguhren) in Deutschland verwiesen wurde. Ich sollte dann nochmals eine neue Batterie probieren, was in der Folge aber keine Abhilfe schaffte. Der Verkäufer sendete mir direkt ohne weiteres ein Rücksendeetikett zu und erstattete den Kaufpreis. Ich hatte zwar eigentlich erwartet eine Reparatur oder Austausch zu erhalten, aber die Erstattung war für mich in Ordnung und ich habe mich auch beim Reisewecker für Seiko entschieden.Erst im Nachgang habe ich dann gesehen, das Braun mittlerweile von P&G aufgekauft wurde. Für einige Sparten, darunter Uhren, wurde der Markenname wohl an fremde Hersteller lizensiert. Schade.
