Ill start by saying Im glad I ordered an 11. I wear a 9 or 9.5 in womens Casual boots in CAT brand, 10 or10.5 in most athletic shoes, 9 or 9.5 in Ninewest heals, 9 in Clarks casual wear, a 10 in Hush Puppies flat Boots. No need to go on, but sizing is a thing. Order a size up in this particular boot. They are holding up very well. Ive had no issue with keeping them tied, they are a little snug in the ankle to put on, but they loosen up slightly. Decent arch support, I dont have an arch issue, maybe a little flat. Comfortable all day. In Northern Michigan "Spring", they have kept me slip free, dry and appropriately warm. I wear regular athletic socks 80 percent cotton "with cushion" and arch support with these. Lots of compliments. Id buy them again. Hope this long note helps. 🙂

I love Columbia boots--they have been some of my favorite hiking boots, etc in the past. This boot has a very different fit, extremely narrow n the area just behind the ball of the foot and the instep. Disclaimer--my feet size out to a C width, so occasionally I need to buy wide sizes in dress shoes, but usually casual shoes and boots are wide enough for me, even with winter weight socks. These are super-narrow, and I would say they would probably be fine for people who wear narrow-to-regular sizes, but not for those with wide feet. They are uncomfortably tight even over the thinnest socks I own. I wish these came in an 11 1/2 so I could size up a half size like the other reviewer. Since I have low arches, I've never had problems with any boots being too low in the instep, except for these. There are two design flaws with these boots which are both probably related to their waterproof nature: 1) the zipper does not go far enough down, so you have to use the laces to get in and out of the boots anyway, and it is a real struggle since these fit close to the ankle (the upside to that is that they provide excellent ankle support and can be laced tight once you have them on). 2) The second flaw is that the laces start too high on the foot, so that there is no expansion/adjustment possible over the instep and ball of the foot area. I'm not sure why the other reviewer didn't like the hooks at the top of the boot--they seem to work like most other boots. My middle school age daughter is a bit of a fashionista and she thinks these are funny looking, but I bought them to walk around the college campus where I work since we have a very wet and rainy climate and I think they look fine for that.

Leather seems nice and it says its waterproof. I ordered a size up, and they fit well. The toe box has very little room, and although my big toe is an inch or so away from the edge, the toebox is so narrow, i can't push it further. So if you don't mind that your feet look a little bigger, and enjoy the comfort, these are great boots. The zipper doesn't go all the way down, and it's uncomfortable to push the foot to put it on. Laces slip when putting it on and off. Leather is nice quality.
