Lock works well. I like the neon green - easy to find. Compact and lightweight too.

I use this to wrap through the bindings of two snowboards and secure them to the ski rack. It is plenty long enough for that. I like the vibrant color is easy to spot. Combination is easy to set or change any time. Not a thick wire, could be cut by a prepared thief but an excellent deterrent.

The complaints I’m seeing about this lock are clearly from not understanding the instructions, which are badly worded. The pin has two positions in each hole, high and low. With the wire fully wound up on the spool, the pin will project from the spool hole in the high position. Push the pin down into the spool hole so it clicks into the low position. Now you can reset the combination. Then pull the pin back out to the high position. When you unreel the cable and push it into the lock hole it will click once. In this high position you can still loosen and rewind the cable. To fully lock the cable push the pin down into the low position. I hope this helps.Once you get the hang of how to use it, this seems a good little lock for preventing casual theft. It’s not going to stop a thief with a pair of wire cutters, but that’s not the point. This is for securing your helmet to your bike while you’re in a store, that sort of thing. Within design intention, it seems to be a fine little lock, much better than nothing.

My ex had this for his snowboard without issue and I love the bright colour. I was worried with some of the reviews about it locking or freezing but thankfully I didn’t have that issue. I skied 5 days in a row and had it locked up for 1-3hrs twice day. The only downside is the wire could be longer (so you have to strategically place your skis on the rack) and it was slightly cheaper in store on the mountain. This still gets 5 stars for me though because others I’ve found are hideous, too expensive or have poor reviews.

Not sure why others are saying the cord doesn’t lock in place. My lock works great. Only wish the cord was slightly longer though but it’s very small and lightweight and I don’t ever know it’s in my pocket until I need it.
