If you’re like me and love taking your GoPro everywhere, then you know how important it is to keep it safe while on the go. After getting my GoPro 12, I quickly realized that my basic clamshell case wasn’t enough protection for my adventures. So, I upgraded to the Evergreen ToughBox Protective Case for GoPro. This case promised better protection, organization, and functionality, so I was eager to see how it would hold up in real-world use. The Evergreen ToughBox is constructed from polycarbonate material, which is both lightweight and durable enough to handle harsh impacts. It comes in two colors: clear or black, and I opted for the more practical black. One of the first things I noticed is how well-designed the interior is. Each section is carefully shaped to fit everything snugly, ensuring that all my GoPro gear is secure during travel. The box has dedicated slots for three batteries, two mounting screws, a Mod lens, cables, and a small charger. A particularly useful feature is the inclusion of a thin slot that holds a card designed to store microSD cards. This small addition really helps with organizing the tiny and easy-to-misplace cards. Inside the box, two special keys are included to allow you to lock the case for extra security, which is a thoughtful touch for keeping prying eyes away from your gear. While the case excels in terms of functionality, versatility, and durability, there are a few minor flaws. First, the lid lacks any sort of cushioning, which leaves the top part of the contents unprotected from potential shock when the case is closed. This omission is disappointing for a case designed to protect delicate electronics. Additionally, I was surprised to find that there’s no handle or hand strap, which would make carrying the case much more convenient, especially when you’re on the move.Overall, the Evergreen ToughBox Protective Case for GoPro is a solid upgrade from a standard clamshell case. Its polycarbonate build offers durability, and the well-organized interior provides plenty of space for all the essentials. However, the lack of cushioning in the lid and the absence of a handle or strap slightly diminish the user experience. Despite these minor drawbacks, the case is still a practical and reliable solution for GoPro users who need better protection and organization for their gear. If you can overlook those small inconveniences, it’s a worthwhile investment to keep your GoPro equipment safe and secure while adventuring. Recommended! B+

This toughbox is pretty great in terms of its protection and layout. It would be a 5 star purchase, but it does have a note on it that says it uses polycarbonate with BPA n it. Now BPA is generally only a major issue if it is used to carry liquids or food, and people may exaggerate the danger--particularly when it comes to kin absorption--but it is one of those weirdly troubling things that makes this seem somewhat undesirable. I will still use it, but it is something people should be aware of.

I go to Hawaii every 3-4 months and I purchased a GoPro to take with me while snorkeling, hiking and exploring. The included GoPro bag was too small and flimsy for me so I bought a makeup bag in the hopes of keeping my GoPro items organized. Unfortunately the bag wasn’t meant for the GoPro so it always ends up messy with everything flying around. I like to carry my GoPro with me at all times when I’m in Hawaii so the case needs to fit nicely in my backpack. We are going again in a few weeks and my mission was to find something smaller and made specifically for the GoPro. When I came across the Evergreen ToughBox I was so excited to give it a try. As soon as it arrived I got to work organizing and moving my GoPro items into the Evergreen tough box. I love the precut inserts, they keep the stuff where it needs to be. My batteries had a habit of flying around in my bag, no more they stay put in the 3 battery slots. The mounting screws were in a zipper pocket with a bunch of other stuff and I would always have to dig around to find them. Now the mounting screws are easily accessible in the precut holes. The extra storage is smaller than I would like but fits the battery charger and its cord perfectly. And finally my favorite feature, the SD card holder. I used to keep my SD cards in a contact case because….well that’s the only thing that I could think of. It is so nice that everything is organized and easily accessible. While I love almost everything about the Evergreen ToughBox I do wish it had a little more room or was a little larger to include a zipper pocket for larger accessories. I know that most GoPro users have some kind of hand grip, small tripod or selfie stick and that won’t fit in this case. Other than that I love the Evergreen Toughbox and am excited to take it with me to Hawaii.

It will hold one GoPro Hero 12, 3;batteries, 6 micro-sd cards, and room for the GoPro lens. The hard case can lock if needed. It seals out the water. I have not submerged the case but it will stop the water from getting if it drops into a puddle or if it gets rained on. It should protect your gear nicely. No zipper just locking clamps that seal out the water.A great value for the money. I've seen similar cases for twice as much as this one.

I chose the black lid version of this tough box, primarily to keep its contents private from prying eyes and also to keep direct sunlight off the gear inside. It's a good solid case for my Go Pro 12 and accessories. It holds the very basic set up, camera, 3 batteries, charger and a new mounts along with my anamorphic lens adapter. If you want to store more, go for a bigger case. But I use it as a kind of quick run bag for when I need to quickly set up a GoPro on location.I have to say, the hinges and clasps are just as sturdy as their more expensive equivalent from Pelican Case, but at a fraction of the price. This does the job perfectly and I see no need to go for the more expensive alternatives.
