I actually use these filters in a cat drinking fountain and they work great. Cut them to size and rinse them out 2X a week and replace them every 3 weeks give or take.Fast, easy and simple.

I tried to use just standard polishing pads that I clumped up and replaced my self but it does not fit in the filter tray as well. It is indeed much easier to pay a little extra for a good polishing pad that fits perfectly in your Fluval canister filter. This filter is also a must if you want clean polished water that does not have a lot of small particles floating around in your tank that make it look cloudy.Keep in mind this does almost nothing for biological filtering its main purpose is to remove small particles from the water column so that your water looks nice and clear. The place is also important to extend the life of this filter. I personally place it in the bottom tray above the black (medium course) filter pads. above that, I have my 3 trays of biological media.PS: if you found this helpful could you please hit the "Helpful" button, thank you!

Mit diesen kleinen Pads lässt sich prima reinigen, was der Grobfilter durchgehen lässt. Je nach Verschmutzungsgrad sind die kleinen Pads natürlich schnell voll, man muss halt zwischendurch mal nachsehen und kann die Filter auch mal auswaschen, aber dann ist definitiv Schluss. Doch dafür hat man auch prima sauberes Wasser. Ich kaufe sie regelmäßig und bin jedesmal zufrieden.
