As you can see from my picture, this is not the right replacement for the JBL E40 BT. The original cable has the 2.5mm jack as the TRRS configuration for Microphone, left, right and ground and the 3.5mm jack as the TRS for left, right and ground. This has swap configuration for the 2.5 jack and 3.5 jack. So far this seems to be working okay as a replacement but I will update if that changes.
