Persönlich finde ich den Helm optisch sehr ansprechend und den Kinnschutz einfach in der Handhabung.Leider gibt es, meiner Meinung, zwei große Nachteile.Zum einen das Gewicht und zum anderen die schlechte Durchlüftung durch das Design.Dadurch wird es recht warm unter dem Helm.Ich habe ihn wieder zurückgesendet und überlege mir den Bell Super DH zu holen.

Very comfy and nice design. Haven’t really put it to the complete test but I have full confidence in it. I got a large.. I kind of have a big head at 5’9. Comes with extra visor capable for a go pro, didn’t know that but cool. Also a soft bag. Has the boa style head thing to tighten and extra cheek pads, I think they might be thicker, if so I’m going to put them in. Overall very excited and confident to put it to use

We buy helmets for safety and this one is well rated.Expensive and doesn't look quite like it does in the photo. But again, protecting your noggin is the thing and this helmet has it going for it. I just wish safety like MIPS was not a premium price. Kinda mercenary of them.All that said it fit me well and feels well built with nice features and comfortable (as helmets go).

Una delle viti della visiera è spanata. Ho dovuto riordinarla ad un costo molto elevato perché le viti di ricambio non sono presenti nella confezione originale. Inoltre sono di plastica e tendono subito a deformarsi.

Endlich ein Fullfacehelm mit abnehmbaren KInnbügel der auch auf große Köpfe passt. Das Befestigen des Kinnbügels ist etwas fummelig, vor allem wenn man den Helm auf hat. Daher gibt's "nur" vier Sterne. Ansonsten ist der Helm ein Spitzenteil.

Ich bin mit diesem Helm sehr zufrieden. Beim uphill muss man nicht ohne Helm fahren man macht einfach den kinnbügel ab. Das Zubehör ist auch super.

Super Teil kann sogar mein 2018 Blade drauf montieren und sitzt von Anfang an besser auf meinem Kopf, obwohl sich nicht viel verändert hat wenn man es mit dem 2018ner Modell vergleicht

Grundsätzlich hat mir der Giro Switchblade super gefallen, sowohl von der Verarbeitung als auch vom Design. Ich fahre seit über 25 Jahren MTB und hatte insgesamt 8 oder 9 Giro-Helme, mit denen ich sehr zufrieden war bzw. bin. Bisher hatte ich immer Größe M und konnte die Helme ohne Probieren einfach bestellen. Sie haben immer optimal gepasst.Der Switchblade 2017 macht hier jedoch eine absolute Ausnahme. Die Öffnung für den Kopf ist etwas ovaler und etwas länger, dafür fällt er in der Breite schmaler aus (ca. 1 - 1,5 cm. Bei Größe M hatte ich überhaupt keine Chance, ihn über den Kopf zu ziehen. Mit Größe L ging es zwar, aber nur unter Schmerzen an den Ohren, und nur dann, nachdem ich zwei der Seitenpolster entfernt hatte. Dafür musste ich dann das RocLoc System ganz zudrehen, dass er nicht zu locker sitzt.Das gleiche Problem hatte ich auch beim Disciple, den ich im Laden probiert hatte. Offensichtlich hat Giro etwas an den Größen verändertEcht schade, denn bisher war ich von Giro total überzeugt. Ab jetzt also kein Giro Fullface Helm mehr.

Like everything I've purchased from Giro, this product is totally overpriced for what it is, but a well designed and super sturdy helmet, with a great internal fastening system (I have two mips helmets, one for air and another for land).Used mine for a summer of BASE jumping - it's perfect for those smart enough to want a real helmet with a full face system (most skydive/base helmets are just expensive camera mounts...). Remember, you can't save yourself after a cliff or building strike if the hit knocks you the f*&# out!! Also, full face makes sense when you realize insurance doesn't cover the $20k+ cost of dental implants to replace the teeth you just knocked out because maybe you reached a little too much at deployment and opened with a 180... (must have been the pack job)For those of us stupid enough to use it for base jumping, I recommend removing the visor as this can be a snag point. If you're jumping a building drunk, at 3am after dancing salsa for several hours on a Friday night, the sun isn't much of an issue anyway. However, the visor is the most natural camera mount, so if you want to share your idiocy with hordes of online admirers, the alternative is to mount a camera on the top of the helmet with a 3M sticky pad, which you can literally rip off in a half second if snagged. There is no quick release system like with a SD helmet, but that's not so important for the low stuff, now is it...Also, this will not be as rugged as other helmets with a plastic or fiberglass cover, so keep it on the top of your stash bag and try not to bash it along rocks, trees, or security guards along the climb to your desired exit point.
