I thought I'd need a new top box when the latch broke on my v46. Well thanks to givi and amazon it was a cheap and easy fix. As others said, you'll need to keep the springs from the old one.The part seems to be metal and the one it replaced was plastic so I'd say this a good replacement and an upgrade from the oem latch.This part is a slightly different shape to the one it replaced and keeping the springs on while fitting the part was a little bit of a faff, but after my 5th or more attempt and when I was being more careful the part fit in and then it was easy to finish the rest of the job.

Perfect fit replacement. Remember to keep old springs, as new ones not included.Give the old springs a clean and a little stretch to bring back life & strength into them, add a little grease to latch bolt.
