Pictures taken with wind currently from the South. Arrow points to wind coming from direction.. Easy enough to install with seperate mount. Initially, it was taking a pretty major breeze for it to point/move. I live in Eastern New Mexico, so we get hefty winds here. Sent an email to the Company.. Super response. They sent two new poles, the new being brass on the bottom, stainless steel top rod. Also, a small ball bearing for top of rod/inside vane sleeve. At no charge.. Highly impressed.. Spins like a charm now. Put a solar spotlight on roof to highlight at night.. Recommend not just the product itself, but the Great Company standing behind their product!!!

Very accurate weathervane just a small breeze and it will show you what way the wind is coming from. Very well made definitely worth buying.

I love this well-built high quality weathervane. No plastic parts. Very comparable to higher priced products I've seen 3X the price. The size is perfect for my 48' x 48' pole barn. In the pictures, I was a bit concerned about the amount of solder on the body where the wings connect but once looking at this piece of art, I no longer was concerned. You do not see the seams at all once it was on my cupola. Another earlier concern I had is if the 23" wingspan could be too small. Not at all, it's perfect size for my barn and I would not go any larger. I have a fairly large size cupola which compliments this wingspan.A few areas to consider when assembling.1) The lower rod has threads on both ends (1/2" & 3/8") for the upper rod (3/8") to screw in. I accidentally had the rod upside down. It was easy to remedy by flipping ends. I also used lock tight (not supplied with kit) to secure the upper rod into the lower rod.2) Do not over tighten the brass ring. It will break easy. Good Directions mailed replacement ring (including a spare) no questions asked even though it was my fault.Once the cupola & weathervane was installed, it's great to see everybody who drives by slow down/stop to view my barn. It looks great. My wife wanted the rooster but admits the soaring eagle is much better than the aggressive mean looking versions we were finding.I do not frequently post comments, this product from Good Directions I highly recommend.
