These are fantastic little plant pots. I love that they are biodegradable which means I only need to transplant seedlings once then stick them straight in the ground which saves me time and effort. They are a good size and I received a good amount of pots which should keep me going for a season.

These biodegradable seed starter pots are a good environmentally friendly way to start off your plants, and since you don't have to remove the plant from the pot in order to transplant it, they're also very convenient. I have had one filled with soil and standing in water for about 2 months and although it has gone quite soft, it hasn't fallen apart. I can pick it up and shake it without it coming apart. Drainage holes are a good size so your seedlings won't get waterlogged. They seem to me a good idea for getting your plants to a good size so that they're strong and healthy before you transplant them outside, and then they can just be popped straight into the ground.

I tested these Fibre Seed Pot liners Here's what I found...Pros ✅ these are 8cm diameter - they fit our large Seedling tray and are great for plants that need a reasonable root-run (e.g. Broad Beans)✅ having a fibre inner makes it quicker and less messy to pot out once germination has completed and the seedling is growing well✅ they are made out of coconut fibre - so should degrade in the soil as you plant out and will let roots pass through them while protecting the main root ball insideCons 👉 Common to all the fibre pots, they need more water than plastic inserts as they dry out quicker. And when the roots come through the sides of the fibre pots if you don't keep them wet enough the roots can actually start to dry out - so if you are not devoted to the seedlings with daily checks and waterings, you may find the plastic ones a better between if environmentally unsound.👉these work out at 22p each - but if you only need the smaller 6cm ones, then you can get even big brand versions of those at 10p a go and even better value for ones that fit the square shape trays. So I'll use these for my special plants and larger cuttings.👉 they are said to be made out of coconut fibre (coir) - but if so there must have been a lot of chemical processing as the material looks like cardboard and no individual fibres can be seen. Just search for images of "coir seedling planters" to see how different are these planters from 99% of the competition. This just questions how "green" these are. Cheapskate gardeners have long used loo rolls as seed planting equipment, so cardboard doesn't not work - it just might not be the product "as described" in the advert which to me has the appearance of a recycled cardboard or paper product. In the end we have to trust that the seller is truthfull, but I do have a nagging uncertainty that this isn't as green as it might appear in the advert'.OVERALL - If I get any fails, such as disintegrating before they can be planted out, or pots that haven't degraded after a season then I will be back to update my review. However, overall I like these alongside my usual smaller buys - and would be happy to get them again.Delivery was quick - they came the next day which is great service by the store.Was this a help?

You get 50 biodegradable pots to plant seeds and when big enough you can plant the whole thing in the ground and the pot will degrade. This is such a brilliant idea, saves time and creating a mess. Also for the price you can’t go wrong.
