I've been looking for something like this for a while. Something to put condiments in, that you can actually get the condiments back out with. The main ingredient I've been wanting to use this for was butter. That's right, butter. There's nothing better than having REAL butter on the trail with you to brighten up any meal. So how was this done? Let me share.Side note, margarine does NOT work well in these things. If the margarine gets warm, then the oil separates out from the water in the margarine, and you get a really nasty product going onto your biscuits.First I load up a flavor injector I use to prep my turkey's with for deep frying. I soften up the butter to room temp, then stuff it into the large end of the injector. Leave the needle off the injector, that gives you a hole slightly smaller than the opening of the GSI containers, and then gently squeeze the butter into the GSI Bottles. Fresh baked/fried biscuits with REAL butter that you just squeeze onto the biscuits. I replace the screw on cap with the flip top cap, and BAM! don't even really need a knife to spread it out. Just squeeze away!Cleaning was going to be a problem, but then I found that using a "test tube" brush and soap, I got my bottles VERY clean. The only thing I would recommend against is using the flip tops with a watery liquid in the bottles. Use the screw tops with watery condiments.Overall, these things are GREAT! Very useful and REUSABLE! so you don't have to pack out empty mustard packets or in my case, butter wrappers.
