These are genuine Hakko cartridges. Knock-offs just fail faster and are more inconsistent.

The original Hakko is simply the best and longest-lasting option out there. Knock-offs, on the other hand, will just break down faster and be far more inconsistent.

I like this tip as it has the thermal mass to be able to draw solder into wick without the wick sticking where not enough heat is being applied. I use it with an FX-951 with an FM2032 attachment which allows for very detailed microsoldering. When an SMD component needs to be removed, and there is a large pad that needs to be wicked, this T15-D16 is ideal. Obviously every situation is different.

Hakko have a well deserved reputation for reliability and quality. I have three interchangeable tips, which cover the bases from general work to circuit boards.Be careful to let the tip cool down before replacing it and it's not properly seated, in its handle, until the final click. If the light on the soldering power supply continues to blink green after several seconds, the tip needs to be re seated by pressing it harder into its handle.The chisel tips are my favorite, but the small pointed tip is handy for desoldering. BTW, the Hakko desoldering tool is a gem.
