compared to similar items listed on here these are definitely on the lower end of the quality range despite costing as much as many of the other options.the foam handle is thin and not very comfortable on the hand and the underside lever overlaps it in a way that it feels like a matter of time until you get a nasty pinch on the fleshy bit of your palm as you operate it.the catch to lower is tricky to operate in a very similar way to the release catch on a cheap silicone gun. would be awkward to adjust back down a little if you were to accidentally lift something too high.was hoping these would help with levelling the doors on our new wardrobes but i'm not so sure they'll offer any real benefit.

These jacks will physically lift a light to medium weight door, but my sample set aren't strong enough for a fire rated door, unfortunately. There's also the issue of the handles, one of which is just a thin bit of steel that hurts your hand, despite the foam used to hide it, Proper handles have flat surfaces to press on, not thin edges. The clamp design also has in inherent flaw in my opinion, in that lowing a load is impossible to do safely. Releasing the catch instantly drops the load to the floor, so there's no downward adjustment possible if you raise things a little too far. The mechanism is the same as the one used on mastic guns. Here, it's just clumsy, and can potentially damage things. For wall tiles it's not such an issue if they're already attached with adhesive.I find that the pneumatic lifter mats already in my tool collection do a far better job than these at lifting and positioning furniture and doors. If I wanted a jack for things like tiles and plasterboard, I'd be looking for a better one than this.
