These are fantastic! Nice and clear, sturdy, easy to use. Compatible with their other models.

I used the Kalami Combat Risers not for its intended use (which is a raised fight stand for miniature soldiers) but as support pedestals for the Indiana Jones horse. The risers are just the right height, the right width, and transparent enough to do the job. No other support base could do this.

This is a nice, simple way of showing a character in flight. If you have multiple of these, you could have a battle in three dimensions, not just two. One of the ways I can see using this is for BattleTech. When using jump-capable 'mechs, aerospace fighters, or my personal favorite; LAMs; you can show how high they jumped/flying. The short segment is Level 1, the longer segment is Level 2, and both segments is Level 3.I'm definitely going to have to get more of these . . . and maybe break out my dragonwrought kobold PC!

This is a really cool little addition for our D&D figures. There is only one reason why this gets 4 stars and not 5. The video was made for a different set. The column ends on the video are larger than 1" and they show more pieces than you get in this set. According to the video, you can adjust the height from 2" to 7" in 1" increments; not true of this set which is 2" to 6" in 2" increments. I almost gave this 3 stars instead of 4, but what stopped me was that they clearly show in a different picture that you only get 2 columns, 2 base/top units, and one connecting piece for a total of 5 pieces. It's pretty obviously a discrepancy so they're getting away with losing only one star. All photographs and diagrams show the set accurately although the photo of the minis in forest terrain would require multiples of this set to build. The description under "About this item" also correctly lists this set as coming with only 2 rods. If I ever notice that the Kalami store has updated the video to show what you get in THIS set, I will change my rating to 5 stars.OUR OPINION OF THIS The standard 1" miniatures fit on it just fine. It's very attractive. The riser makes a nice touch to show off to your friends in a game. If I have any complaints, it would be that having a set with multiple bases and columns that could fit multiple figures would be more handy than having one adjustable height column. I'm not terribly concerned with exactly how high off the ground my mini is. It beats hands down our standard tactic of finding something like a spice jar to stand in for the representation of elevation. If the whole party is flying, it's sort of weird to have a few of the spice jars and then one of these sets on the table, and buying enough for the whole party would get expensive. It is possible to use these for two figures if you're very careful. You can use one base on each of the columns and try to balance a figure on top of each column. You would get one character at about 2" height and one at about 4", and it's less stable since you're missing the platform on top, but if you only have one of these sets, it beats random household items.
