These lights are perfect to use if you are mounting them to a position where it is difficult to access the rear of the light to fix a washer and nut - simply use self-tapping screws or Rivnut fixings and they can be fixed from the outside. A single light is sufficient to illuminate a standard square UK number plate, if you have a standard "long" plate then two are probably required.
