I enjoyed playing this little training "ball" which promotes a straight follow through despite a few niggles that I've had with it.Firstly this training golf ball resembles a little puck with the sides sliced off to accommodate the removable washers which changes the balance and feel of the golf aid quite dramatically compared to a real golf ball. By removing a washer on the near side the ball will swing inwards and if you remove a washer from the far side, the ball will swing outwards. The weight of the aid comes in at over 60g which was approximately 15g more than a real golf ball. Removing two washers will bring the weight closer to a real golf ball but to be honest this did not resemble a real ball any more than having all the washers in due to the material and construction of the aid.Changing the balance by adding removing washers provides a little bit of variety to the exercises rather than hitting the usual straight putts. I found it quite fun to judge weight of my curved putts to the target by varying putting strength but this will obviously feel and act different to how a normal ball would swing on any given green.The feel of the outer layer feels significantly different to a real golf ball. I can only describe it as a more plasticky/less solid feel on contact which runs slower than a real golf ball. Despite the differences of feel, speed and shape, there are benefits to this training ball as you will be able to visibly see if your follow through is true and whether the ball runs straight. Any arc in your swing or flaw in your follow through will translate with a jiggle of the training ball on contact. Hit the ball well and you are rewarded with a straight and true rotation. You get a similar effect if you have ever hit a half and half coloured ball where the line will wriggle instead of running straight but this ball will exaggerate those errors.It would have been much better if they could mimic the contact feel a bit closer to a real golf ball. Perhaps by thickening the golf ball layer so that it feels less hollow on contact. Even so, I have enjoyed using this aid and am now looking forward to seeing if the small changes in my putting stroke results in lower putts on the greens.
