My 2013 Masi CX Comp (cyclocross bike) came factory equipped with a SRAM PG950, 11-32, nine speed cassette. Although SRAM might be a more well-known name, that particular model has one glaring flaw. Seven of the 9 gears are held together with one tiny screw – which has a nasty habit of either backing out or breaking off. This microSHIFT CS-H092 is held together with stronger rivets.Seeing that my CX bike has a steel (chromoly) frame, I wanted to go with a lower first gear for better hill climbing power. Enter this microSHIFT CS-H092 11 - 34, nine speed cassette. With a compact 34/50 crankset, this now gives me a one-to-one gear ratio in the lowest gear. And the quality is there! Bottom line…why pay more for a Shimano or SRAM cassette when microSHIFT gets the job done just as well? If you’re a “weight weenie”, yes, this one might weigh a gram or two more. I rarely give all 5 stars. So, don’t read a lot into that. I’m switching to this brand of cassette on ALL 5 of my bikes.
