The first thing that I noticed was that, compared to other sleeping bags, the quality of the compression bag was not manufactured to such a high standard. This is clearly a budget brand. Whilst the material that the bag is made out of feels pretty standard, the compression straps themselves are very thin and flimsy feeling. For something that is designed to be pulled tight and held under compression, I would have liked to have seem thicker and better quality straps. Equally, the drawstring cord at the top of the bag is very thin. The whole package consists of the sleeping bag, the compression sack and a larger net bag. It is advised that the sleeping bag isn’t kept under compression for too long. If you are storing the sleeping bag for a long time, the netting bag is supplied to store the bag in. This ensures that the bag and the down within it maintains its shape and integrity. The whole package is really light, making it ideal for backpacking. It also compresses down really well, meaning that it takes up minimal room in your rucksack. As with the compression sack, the sleeping bag itself feels slightly sub-par in terms of build quality. This reflects the fact that this is a budget brand. The size of the bag is really good - especially for a tall person. I am 6ft 4” and there is plenty of room in the bag for me. I did miss having a hood on the sleeping bag, My other dowen bag has a hood and I find that I use it all the time during cold nights when camping. Whilst there isn’t a hood, there is an elasticated drawstring at the top of the sleeping bag to allow you to stop heat escaping from around your neck. This CWM400 sleeping bag is filled with down. I’m slightly confused as to the type of down. The photographs on the listing state that it is goose down. In the listing itself, it states that it is white duck down. It is these types of inconsistencies that make me lose a bit of confidence in a product. The labels on the compressions sack don’t help either, as they are in Chinese. Again, I feel that this shouldn’t be the case considering that these items are specifically produced for the export mrket. It cheapens the product. Whatever type of down, the listing states that the sleeping bag has a fill power of 800FP. That gives it a comfort range down to 6 degrees (you should feel snug and comfy down to this), a transition range down to 0 degrees (you’re starting to feel the cold a bit) and a risk range down to -10 degrees (the working capacity will be really dropping off down to this temperature.I tested this overnight in my bedroom, on a cold winter night. The temperature was falling down to -2 degrees outside. The overnight bedroom temperature went down to around 14 degrees. I slept in a t-shirt, some jogging bottoms and a pair of socks. Shortly into the night, I was so warm I removed the joggers and the socks, something that I wouldn’t do if I was outside in a tent. I remained warm throughout the night.I like the fact that this is a square bottomed bag, as opposed to the Mummy bags. I always feel a little claustrophobic in the Mummy bags. This square bottomed bag allows you to move your feet and legs a little bit more.

This is such a lovely sleeping bag. It’s so light and compact but really does keep you warm and toasty. Would highly recommend this for our cold springs!
