Die Ausstattung ist nur als Verpackung, für den Feldeinsatz jedoch nicht, geeignet. Das Fernglas 20x60 liegt gut in der Hand und kann gut bedient werden. Die helle Optik zeichnet ein klares Bild. Auch mit Brille ein gutes Sehfeld. Kontrastreiche Kanten zeigen Farbsäume, welche in der Schärfe minimal werden. Die Verarbeitung ist präzise und in der Handhabung knackig. Die Kunststoffteile dürften allerdings auf Dauer abnützen.

Feels good in the hand a looks good. Focus is precise. Resolution is very good. A little of the tunnel vision effect going on but still a wide view. Diopter adjustment could be a little stiffer for my taste but after using the binocular for a total of several hours the adjustments have stayed put ( I put a small dot with a marker ( Q tip with a little alcohol can remove the the dot) so if the diopter adjust does get moved I will know it and can quickly go back to were it needs to be for my eyes. The binocular does have some heft to it so not a light weight. Holds very steady. Lense caps go on and off without trouble but dont fall off easily. Binocular at its best for careful use, I would not use for the tough conditions of hunting ( rain, bad weather, nocks and bumps etc). Manual says water proof but implies not extremy so, good enough I believe that it will not allow fugus on inner lense over the years. External focus mechanism so dont put large amount of pressure on the diopter barrels, might not hurt it or cause the need for readjustment though. I have several expensive binoculars but I really like these, glad I made the purchase. Something about the porro prism binocular make them best to look through, just not as compact as the roof prism design to pack and carry around.

Ein wirklich gutes Fernglas von Pentax! Ich habe das kleine 8x40 bestellt. Es sollte relativ handlich und nicht zu schwer sein.Es lässt sich sehr gut einstellen. Es ist scharf, recht hell. Ein schönes Erlebnis wenn man durch schaut.Na und der Preis ist doch okay!!??Meine Empfehlung!Kauft nichts billiges, da wird man nie glücklich mit!!Tschüß Michael!

These binoculars are really well made and feel right in the hand. They look nice. The focus wheel is nice and the focus lock is a bonus. They aren't too heavy, probably heavier than roof prism binoculars but still not too heavy to take out on a days walking.The eye cups are great for glasses wearers with more than enough relief.The optics are clear and sharp BUT suffer greatly from Chromatic abberation with purple, yellow and blue outline to birds, trees and the horizon. Its a real shame as I love everything else about these binoculars and at the price I bought them at they were a bargain but I just couldn't get on with them with this problem. I even exchanged my original pair for another thinking that they were faulty but the second pair had exactly the same issue. Its a real shame and I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned this issue on their reviews? Is it a dodgy batch? I'd be interested to find out.The only other niggle with these bins are the covers, they dont stay on at all! I wouldn't be using them had I kept the binoculars.EDIT - NOW 5 ******So after the first two models of these binoculars suffering from really bad chromatic aberration, I reluctantly decided to order a Celestron pair. They came and were awful, in comparison to the Pentax, it was like looking through fog and nothing was sharp like I had with the Pentax. So I decided to order a 3rd Pentax and live with the chromatic aberration as the Pentax were that sharp, felt superior and focussed superbly well. The 3rd delivery has just arrived and looking through them, they are perfect HARDLY ANY CHROMATIC ABERRATION. so I think Pentax must have a quality control issue, so pleased I persisted.

Das Fernglas liegt dank der Gummierung sehr gut in der Hand, lässt sich leicht einstellen, hat eine sehr gute Schärfe und ist seinen Preis auf jeden Fall wert! Eine gute abgepolsterte Tasche und Abdeckkappen für die Frontlinsen und Okulare sind ebenfalls dabei, so dass das gute Stück bei Nichtgebrauch gut geschützt ist.

Ich habe Monate überlegt und lange abgewogen ob ich kaufen soll oder nicht.Fazit: Das Glas ist einfach der Hammer! Ich hatte große bedenken bezüglich ruhig halten freihändig - Wahnsinn, es ist komischer weise so konzipiert dass ich es nahezu so wie meine 8 Fach Gläser halten kann. Und aufgestützt auf den knien im hockerln zb. und weit vorne am Tubus gefasst hat man sowieso komplett verwackelungsfreies Bild. Echt genial!Ich hatte bedenken wegen bildrand bei so großer Vergrößerung, gottseidank ist das Gesichtsfeld nur 44 grad (fühlt sich beim durchblicken an wie ungefähr 50) sodass es einem schön scharf vorkommt und eben nicht zum Rand hin minderwertig. Ich persönlich mag fast schon kleinere Gesichtsfelder lieber, weil sie so schön SPOT-ig sind und bessere Bild liefern (vergleichbar mit Taschenlampenkegel, den will man ja auch schön scharf und rund konzentriert) einen tunnelblick empfinde ich einfach nicht bei dem Glas, da müsste es wahrscheinlich 35 grad haben. Chromatische abberation hat es für diese Vergrößerung passend, sieht man nicht genau gerade durch erscheinen die blauen und auf der anderen Seite die gelben Töne. Meine Meinung KOMPLETT EGAL bei den bildeindrücken die das Glas mir liefert (ausserdem sehe ich sehr gerne ruhig und konzentriert durch und dann ist CA für mich sowieso nicht mehr vorhanden).Zum Abschluss nochmal - dieses Glas ist einfach suuuuper....! Zeit nehmen, am besten hinhokerln oder auf Tisch aufstützen und gaaaanz nah an die Natur rücken und das mit einem wirklich tollen Bild.... (ich habe zb. Auch ein 15-45x80 Glas auf Stativ etc. Ich muß sagen ich hätte auf KEINEN FALL mit dieser Bildqualität (Schärfe, Helligkeit, bildrand) gerechnet!)Unbedingte Kaufempfehlung....!! :)Nachtrag: habe jetzt extra nochmal geschaut, eigentlich ist Bild bis zum Rand scharf! Bildqualität ist unglaublich, Eindruck nahezu so schön wie mein Eschenbach trophy p 8x56...! Und das liefert wirklich hervorragendes Bild..! Hätte diese Qualität einfach nicht erwartet bei einem 20 fachen fernglas, ganz großes Wow...!!! Kann es irgendwie gar nicht glauben. :)

Exactly what we needed for our Borneo Safari. Not too heavy to hold up for longer and easy to use to spot even birds. Used this binocular before on safari in Botswana and was fully satisfying our needs. For longer walking tours i would add a harness

I own the Zeiss Conquest HD 15x56mm binocular (here to for called "Zeiss" in this review), which costs, literally, seven times as much as this Pentax 20x60 WP. They are not the same binocular, for sure, but I will attempt to find some meaning in these differences.The Zeiss is made in Germany and has ultra-low ED glass, complete with Loutec proprietary coatings. The Pentax is made in China (stated clearly on box) and features fully-coated but not ED glass. The optics of both binoculars are exceptional. The Zeiss is brighter (as a 15x vs. 20x is expected to be), and has improved accuracy of color. It is with no significant loss of focus in the periphery, and the view quality is stunning and memorable. (Note: I also own top-of-the-line Zeiss Victory FL binoculars and, although the price is more than the Conquest HD, I see no visible improvement of quality between those two Zeiss models). The Pentax, on the other hand, has a touch of taint to the coloration; I would call it slightly bland in color representation that seems distinct from the dimmer view. Nothing is as vivid in the Pentax as in the Zeiss. The peripheral FOV of the Pentax has slight fuzziness, only because I'm looking for it. I do not see grotesque chromatic aberration, but I'm not using these for astronomy so likely wouldn't notice it when watching bikinis on the beach.The optics, overall, are superb in both binoculars, with the Zeiss winning certainly and absolutely...but is it worth seven times the price of the Pentax? This is hard to quantify, so I will instead mention roles. If you are using the binoculars to view batters from the "cheap seats" in the outfield, if you are watching boats come in at the ocean shore on a bright afternoon, if you are doing surveillance of your fiancees house from your truck to be sure she is not cheating, then there is no way that the price difference is of value to you. On the other hand, if you are tracking the tail plumage of migratory waterfowl, if you are hunting elk across a canyon at twilight, if you are trying to show your birder friends that you have hit the lottery, then yes, the price difference is right and just for you.Magnification: I debated the Pentax as I already owned the Zeiss. Would the magnification be different enough from 15x to 20x to be worth the purchase. The answer is astoundingly yes. It's likely a factor of FOV, but I can honestly say that the mag difference is more than one would expect between the two. And magnification is hard to beat with better optics otherwise. What do I mean? Better coloration, less fringing, less chromatic aberration, sure it's all good. But if I'm looking at a pitcher from the bleachers to see how he's palming his throw, does any of that matter? No. What matters is magnification, and the Pentax has it. Magnification trumps all the rest of the hokey-pokey when you are seriously trying to look at a focal point at a distance away. And this is how the Pentax will fit into my uses.I should mention that the case of the Pentax is so-so; it's thin and provides not much padding if you re going to be bumping these optics around a boat or in the woods, so you might want to upgrade that. The individual objective covers fit nicely and stay in place, but are not attached by rubber hinges like modern "drop down" covers. Everyone mentions, and rightly so, that the eyepiece covers are loose. They sure are. They literally fall off. BUT, if you are planning to use these indoors to look at birds at your backyard feeder, for example, this is an advantage. Why? The binoculars are large enough to stand on their objective end down on a table without the objective lens caps in place (the table will keep the objectives dust free), and one can just place the eyepiece cover atop the eye lenses easily. Then, one quick swipe and the eyepiece cover is off (as opposed to struggling to get them off at each use, particularly with binocs that have individual eyepiece covers) and you lift the binocs to view in all of two seconds. Winner!I must mention hand-holding these "big eye" binoculars. Everyone seems to emphasize the necessity of a tripod (in fact, the Zeiss model comes with a tripod adapter; the Pentax does not). I agree that for long duration viewing (watching a bird's nest, the SpaceX launch pad, a stationary window from your across street neighbors that never pull the bedroom blinds), sure, grab that tripod. But, both of these binoculars are perfectly useable by hand holding. I'm no maharishi that can hold my breath and lower my pulse to be able to use these binoculars without moving; conversely, I'm a constant talker, and often while chewing gum! I can see just fine for one or two minutes at a time with these binoculars. If I'm at a baseball game, rest one elbow on the chair arm or my knee, no problem. The bottom line is that in real world situations, there's almost always a support. Elbows on a picnic table, shoulder against a tree trunk, knees up when sitting with back against a boulder. All it takes is a touch of support, and these binoculars are plenty useable for many minutes of constant "glassing". In fact, a binocular harness, properly adjusted, can add stability from tension on the straps themselves. Of course, many times, one can simply place their backpack on a rock or stump and rest the binoculars atop it and not use any hands at all for a makeshift tripod. Bottom line is, I would have no compunctions about bringing this Pentax to a ballgame to watch from the cheap seats by hand-holding exclusively.All in all, great binoculars. Worth more than the sales price as there are so few options in a portable 20x magnification binocular. The astronomical 20x80mm binoculars are simply too large to carry to the ballpark without a wheelbarrow, and the need for such large light-sucking objectives is limited to viewing dark things in dark night. For the rest of us, these 60mm objectives work well and travel well (three pounds as opposed to most 8x32 or 10x32 binoculars at 1.5 pounds, is it really that much difference; we're not through-hiking the Appalachian trail here, we are walking out to the cheap seats from the parking lot, is all). Super pleased with them, super happy that I bought them despite owning the Zeiss 15x56mm prior to this purchase. Particularly if you already own 8x and/or10x binoculars, these will be a totally different viewing experience and should be worth your time for alternative applications. Great gift idea for those who enjoy the outdoors, sports, concerts (can buy those cheaper grassy lawn seats at the amphitheater and still have a front row seat), etc. Highly recommended.

Ich benutze dieses Fernglas seit Jahren und schließe mich den sehr guten Bewertungen aus Erfahrung und Überzeugung an. Ich bin bedingt durch mein Hobby (Flugzeuge) seit über 30 Jahren ständiger Benutzer von Ferngläsern und habe bisher kein besseres in der Hand gehabt. Kurz zu den Vorteilen gegenüber anderen Ferngläsern. Ich benötige z.T. Vergrößerungen größer als der Standard (10x). Dabei habe ich Anfangs immer auf Zoomferngläser gesetzt. Bin aber mit der Zeit immer wieder von der Anfälligkeit des Zooms enttäuscht worden. Die Optik hält dem Gebrauch nie lange stand und ist defekt, so dass das Fernglas unbrauchbar wird - das äußert sich zum Beispiel in unterschiedlichen Vergrößerungen auf beiden Augen.Nun aber zu den Vorteilen:- sehr fein einstellbarer und schwer verstellbarer Dioptrien Ausgleich (das Einstellrad rastet in kleinen Schritten ein)- Augenmuscheln lassen sich in drei Stufen fix einstellen, was gegenüber den umklappbaren Gummi-Lösungen einfacher und solider, sowie besser zu bedienen ist- Scharfeinstellung ist schwergängig, was ein ständiges nachjustieren nahezu unnötig macht (bei anderen Ferngläsern verstellt sich die Schärfe oft binnen Sekunden) - das Fernglas verfügt über eine Fixierung der Schärfeeinstellung, die ist aber auf Grund der vorab beschriebenen Eigenschaften unnötig- sehr klares und scharfes Bild auch bei Dunkelheit (es ist aber natürlich kein Nachtsichtgerät)- Einstellung des Augenabstands ebenfalls sehr schwerfällig, was wiederum zu nur seltenen Nachjustierungen führt- sehr robustDas einzige was negativ auffällt ist, das die versprochene Antibeschlagwirkung nicht funktioniert, das gilt aber auch nur, wenn das Fernglas extrem kalt ist und in tropischen Temperaturen mit hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit genutzt wird.Anmerkung: Man muss sich zunächst an dieses Fernglas gewöhnen, aber nach kurzer Zeit lernt man die Vorteile, besonders bei häufigen Gebrauch auch mit beweglichen Objekten, zu schätzen.
