Diese Pentek 155263 RFFE20-BB Eisen-Reduzierkartusche für radialen Durchfluss ist geeignet für die Reduzierung von gelöstem Eisen in Wasserversorgungen mit Konzentrationen von bis zu 3 Teilen pro Million (ppm) für verbesserten Geschmack, weniger Flecken und reduzierte Gefahr von Rohr- und Durchlauferhitzerschäden. Es hat eine Lebensdauer von 26.000 Gallonen für Wasserversorgung mit einer Eisenkonzentration von 3 ppm und eine längere Lebensdauer bei niedrigeren Konzentrationen. Like others, I have the iSpring system. The filters from iSpring should last a year. They never really did a great job at removing iron. They were better than nothing, but I was still getting iron stains in my toilets. I had to use iron out every 2 weeks to remove the stains. I decided to give Pentair a try since their pool products are good. Well I put this filter (along with carbon and sediment) in my iSpring housings on Dec. 30th. It's now January 23 and no visible iron stains in the toilet. Definitely worth the slightly higher price and they fit the iSpring blue 20" housings with no issue.

Removes all the iron and manganese I have in the well water, it is a space saver, easy to replace (yearly in my case) however the price has skyrocketed in the past years. I consider now a more cost effective solution.

I installed a new well water filtration system and use this product in conjunction with a 1000 micron washable sediment pre-filter and two paper filters to reduce iron oxide and sand that enters the plumbing system (thanks to a local water expert in my area). I have a 4 chamber system setup. First is the 1000 micron pre-filter and mine needs to be cleaned about every 14 days. It is a simple task and takes 5 minutes to do. (In my case I have sand and heavy iron content). Then a paper filter, then the iron filter and finally another paper filter.I have noticed a remarkable difference in my water. Specifically in all my water using fixtures and appliances.I have been using this setup for about 8 months now and feel the carbon filter will last at least a year if not longer. I also have found that the first paper filter needs to be changed after about 8 months. I then rotate the second paper filter to the first position as it has very little staining. Then add the new paper filter into the last position.Why I reviewed this product in depth is because after 12 years of fighting a losing battle and thinking there was no answer, I have found that this setup has worked beautifully. I highly suggest to talk to water experts in your area as they are probably tuned in to what you may be experiencing.Good luck!

My iron is all undissolved iron at 3ppm or more. By adding just a 1 micron sediment filter it drops to around 0.5ppm (1 ppm at most).I initially had a similar iSpring 20x4.5" Iron filter (similar price too). It lasted maybe 3 weeks 1000 gallons with at most being hit with 1 ppm of iron. I had both 1 micro filter and a carbon filter before it. It doesn't reduce iron at all after 3 weeks.I decided to give it one more shot and try Pentair Iron filter. I probably would have bought the Pentair first had I known it existed. I have had good experience with Pentair. I use Pentair components on my pool.Any way I have again a 1 Micron Filter before this Pentair (also 20x4.5"). But after some research watching videos I put the carbon filter after this iron filter. Some documents say this filter oxidizes the iron and then a post filter needs to pick it up. I'm not sure about that and if that applies to undissolved iron. Any way my Carbon filter is a 0.5 Micron and also made by Pentair. It cost almost as much as the iron filter.The water is perfect now. Pentair claims 80,000 gallons at 1ppm. Should last 2 years. We'll see but it's looking much better than the iSpring filters I installed first. I've been running for 6 weeks and 2000 gallons.I also top off the kitchen sink drinking spigot with a WaterDrop filter that does 0.01 Micron. This is also a GREAT filter and not expensive and should last 2 years (19,000 gallons). Even when the iSpring was falling to get the iron out the water out of the Waterdrop was still perfect.

After 2 years of trying to get my water good. This finally did it. It really works. I started out with a water softener, which helped quite a bit , but the water still had an odor. so I put a solid carbon filter after the softener. That helped some, but the hot water still had an odor. The next change was to to replace the the sacrificial rod in the water heater with a powered titanium rod. I still had a slight odor so I put a chlorinator ahead of the softener. That put so much rust in the water that the softener couldn't remove it and the charcoal filter would saturate in a few days. Then I took out the chlorinator and put in a Big Blue filter with this cartridge. Now it has been in over 3 months, and it is still working. The charcoal filer is still clean after 3 months. It looks like the problem is finally solved.
