Pilot apparently changed ink formulations over the years and not for the better. Something was just off about the more recent v5 and v7. I gave these a try for only one reason-thry were the same gray color as the ones I used through high school and college. And they are indistinguishable from them! These are generally not sold in Staples or even "nice" stationers. But you can get them here and I will get them often.
