My boys have put it in many different locations. It only works sometimes and the accuracy is awful. It only works 1 out of 50 hockey shots. Would not recommend. I would have returned it but they threw away the box. So I’m out $100

I primarily purchased this for my daughter who is a softball pitcher. She's really been trying to increase her speed so I thought a speed radar gun might help her to see how well she's improving. I also have 2 boys that play travel, and high school, hockey that have had a great time with this. Their shots are fairly hard so it's been a fun little competition between the two of them.This radar gun comes in a nice packaged box so hold on to it and don't throw it away. My kids put it right back in the box, when they are finished using it, so it does not get damaged. I was a little disappointed at the light, cheap feeling of this, and thought right away "I got what I paid for and it won't last". The screen mounts to the stand easily but the stand feels like it's going to break every time we use it. It's just plastic and it seems something metal would have been a better option, especially since you're throwing things at it. My kids have placed it in different areas; behind the hockey and pitching net, off to the side, sitting it on a box so it sits higher, etc. Even with them being consistent, it does give some different numbers so we're thinking that we need to keep the placement of it consistent every time they use it. My boys have enjoyed the different game modes, especially the one for 2 players. The voice feature is cool and the numbers are big. They do go away fast, however, so that's where the voice feature is nice. My kids have used this so much they have charged it a handful of times and that's a great feature! I love not having to use batteries. They have definitely had a lot of fun with this.Besides this feeling a bit on the cheap side, this has really been a fun tool for my kids playing hockey and pitching. It's also gotten them off the couch more, and away from video games, so it's definitely paid for itself already.

This speed counter is great for hockey and baseball. I first bought it for my 12 year old grand daughter to record pitch speeds. My 8 year old grandson then wanted one for his Slapshot speed. So if course I had to order another one. Both were easy to set up and we're enjoyed a lot.

Not super accurate. Picks up stick speed before the puck on most occasions
