Der elektromagnetische Strahlungsdetektor ist kompakt und handlich, ideal zum Aufspüren von Strahlungsquellen im Haushalt. Besonders praktisch finde ich die einfache Handhabung mit der farblichen Anzeige in Grün, Orange und Rot – das ist selbsterklärend und gut nachvollziehbar.Allerdings muss man recht nah an die Strahlungsquelle heran, bevor das Gerät auslöst. Andere Modelle zeigen Strahlung aus größerer Entfernung an, was manchmal praktischer wäre. Für meinen Zweck reicht es jedoch aus, da ich keine genauen Messwerte brauche, sondern nur wissen möchte, ob und wo Strahlung vorhanden ist.Ich konnte damit überraschend starke Strahlungsquellen finden, z. B. bei Handy-Ladegeräten.

I ordered this EMF metre because of this line:"Target Users: Essential for individuals interested in supernatural phenomena. Also suitable for professionals, pregnant women, elderly individuals, and anyone concerned about radiation exposure"I am not familiar with EMF and RF/microwave radiation, so while using this detector is VERY easy, figuring out what each of the levels and units mean is going to take me some time.The detector is ready to use out of the box. For a lay-person like me, it was pretty simple to understand how to operate the device: press the big orange button to turn it on, watch the levels of the three units scan up and back down. The screen will also change colours according to detected levels (green is good, orange is warning, red is bad.)I've tried it around areas of the apartment, microwave, monitors, etc. I'll likely take it out with me on walks to text on other things. That said, I have no idea what any of the levels mean other than Red = Bad. I suppose if I were ghost hunting, this device would scare the begeebers out of me if it turned orange.I don't think this is built for professional EMF detection, but I'm also unsure who would really use this device in the end. I could recommend this for people who are concerned with areas or devices that may emit radiation.

Simple to use - only an ON-OFF switch. This device is designed to detect Electric, radio and magnetic fields.EF - ELECTRIC FIELD is generated by electric sources like electricity transmission wires and static chargesRF - RADIO FREQUENCY FIELD is generated by radio transmitters like radio broadcasting + telecommunications devicesMF - MAGNETIC FIELD is generated by magnets and moving electric currents (electromagnet - like a electric transformer)All measurements are "relative", I don't believe the reading levels are "calibrated". Meaning you can really only compare the reading you make in one location to the reading you make in another. Or the reading you take at one time at a specific location to another reading taken in the same location at a later date/time. Readings of the types of fields that this device ideally required much more sophisticated devices to measure accurately in a calibrated method. For example in order to make an accurate radio frequency (RF) field measurement you need to take into account the actual frequency of the signal you're wanting to measure. To properly pick up any RF signal you need a pick up device (an antenna in this case) of the correct length (size) for the frequency being measured. This is the "wavelength" of a frequency. Wavelength is inversely proportional to frequency. Meaning the higher the frequency, the shorter the wavelength (and therefore the size of the required antenna or "pick-up"). That is why a 1/4 wave CB antenna (27MHz) is about 9 feet long whereas a 1/4 wave 2.4GHz Wi-Fi antenna is just over an inch long. That is a big difference in size. If the "pick up" (antenna) being used is not the right size for a particular frequency then the resulting reading must somehow be adjusted/calibrated to take this difference into account (for each different frequency). The "EMF Meter" comes with user's manual which explains well what it does - but does not outline how detected levels are calibrated. Nor does the manual list what the frequency limits (range) for which this device is accurate for. Even the manual states "If the radiation exceeds the standard (but doesn't say what the standard is) use an instrument to identify the radiation source" (suggesting you then use some other device to identify/clarify what you've detected with this device).I was able to detect RF levels from my Wi-Fi router beginning from about 6 feet away. I could detect magnetic field levels from a horseshoe magnet as well as near the AC transformer inside my UPS. I was also able to detect electric fields from an electric extension cord when the device plugged into it was actually on (running). Also near (almost touching) an electric outlet - whether being used or not. I also drove by a AM broadcast antenna array (along the main road which was about 250m (750 ft.) away. It also detects the RF generated from my smartphone - notice it even picks up RF from my smartphone sometimes when I'm not even using it! (makes sense though - my smartphone is likely checking/downloading email - or something like that). My 5w Ham Radio UHF handy-talkie maxed out the reading and immediately brought up a red screen with the detector sitting right beside it. Much lower readings were seen at a couple of feet away. In all these cases when the detector was moved further away from the source the detected levels went lower in levels. The top of the detector is marked "sensor" and the detector picks up a stronger signal if you point the top of the detector towards the "source".I have also read that some people also use such devices to measure "ghost activity". Although I do not have any "ghost searching" knowledge or experience, I cannot rule out that "ghosts" might cause measurable EMF signals to be detected, but if that's what you're going to use this for, it would be prudent if you get any suggestable "ghost" readings that you confirm and rule out that the readings you are getting are not from any real earthbound sources - like a taxi transmitting on his radio out in the driveway, a nearby cellphone, a CB (or Ham Radio) transmitter a few doors down, a hydro transformer nearby, a Wi-Fi module in your laptop (or smartphone or other device), a Bluetooth device (headset, mouse etc.), an electric fan nearby, a stereo or speakers, the list goes on... and finding those devices is what this device was really designed for. Unfortunately if the signals detected are intermittent they become much more difficult to find out where they're originating from...In summary this is a great tool to see if there are any EMF fields present in any location. It can also help you determine what kind of field (Electric, Radio or Magnetic) it is and help you locate the source (the measured levels will increase as you move the detector closer to the source). This device is a good simple starting point to determine if further more exacting investigation with other tools is warranted. It's nice small size makes it easy to take along anywhere. Also a nice gift for the technological orientated relative or friend you have trouble deciding what to get them.
