I used this for a grub screw I needed in a 3D printed design that was to cut a thread into ABS. I used an old tap wrench I had and was able to manually create the thread. It's often a risky business with smaller threads to do by hand as it often doesn't take much to snap a tap if you aren't careful. I wasn't careful at all and gave it some beans and I'm happy to report that the tap remained in one piece.Once the thread was cut the grub screw fit in really nicely and the thread looked clean. This is a nice little tap for the price.

a simple looking but durable and functional tap. worked beautifully on my initial tests.lacks any kind of markings so you will want to label it when you store it away so you can easily find it again for the right job.very affordable. i'll look to buy more sizes as the needs arise.

This review is for the Rennie Tools - M6 x 1,0 Spiral Point Tap HSS M2 Titanium (TiN) Coated 6mm Thread. Metric Hand/Machine Screw Tap Metric Coarse for Tapping Through HolesThe quality Tap comes supplied in a simple clippy tray, for the 1 supplied Tap. It's a second pass tap, ideally for fully open through holes, and great for running out damaged or worn threadsThe tap is made from HSS (High speed steel) which has a coating of TiN (Titanium Nitride). The coating should give the tap more durability particularly if you are using it in hard material. The tap is well formed and seems accurate and sharpRemember Taps aren't about speed as such, but more about giving a clean cut thread and then durability to repeat the cut process many times overObviously this sale is only for 1 Tap, but often you'll want more choice than just this 1 size, once i put this away in my garage, albeit with my other taps and dies ... i have to remember where this 1 lonely little tap is for next timeAt the current price of £5.99, this a high quality Tap at a high price, definitely recommended, but i'd prefer a whole tray of 10 sizes

M10 x 1.5 Spiral Point Tap as sold by Rennie Tools.Firstly, I have bought various taps from Rennie Tools and this is the first to arrive with no identification markings on the tap. On second thoughts I can't remember ever using a unmarked new tap.The tap itself is good and I notice some comments on the lack of a set of three. This is primarily a machining tap for through holes but it can also be used as a hand tap.Spiral point or bull taps are designed to push the swarf forward which makes them unsuitable for tapping blind holes.Overall, a very good tap and well worth the eight-pound asking price.

It's not easy to get excited about a tap for cutting threads, until you need one! This was ordered to restore the threads on a damaged log burning stove door hinge. It enabled me to recut the thread and then refit the securing bolt. 100% success!
