This is a nicely made strong somewhat portable umbrella. It's larger and heavier than a typical small portable umbrella and while it does open and close easily, it's a little tough to close it all the way down. While this umbrella is strong, I would not necessarily replace my "normal" golf umbrella. That said, for the premium price, it's a good umbrella to leave in the car or when traveling in bad/windy weather.

This is a very good quality umbrella. The material is thick & looks very durable. It has a double canopy design which helps the wind to pass through & doesn't have a problem with high winds. Its big size but folds small and easy to carry around.I like the open & close with button design which is very convenient. It has a cover too which looks good & clean.

Growing up in Oregon, we always prided ourselves on not needing umbrellas when it rained. But where we moved is really windy, and the rain comes down harder. And some umbrellas are so much better than the ones when I was growing up! Like this one.You can press a button not only to open it, but to collapse it as well. You have to compress it with your hands once collapsed, but it's still a nice feature. It opens and closes smoothly, even for a child, though younger children might need help compressing it once it's collapsed. It looks and feels well made. The fabric is nice, though we have another golf umbrella and it "seems" like that fabric is every so slightly thicker.A few things of note...The product page says it is 51" from side to side, which is a few inches too generous. It says 2-3 people can fit under it - I would say that may be possible if the three of them are small. It collapses down to less than 15" long. I think it would be suitable for the side pocket on a backpack, but probably not for a purse or briefcase (not that they claim it IS suitable for those things, just adding some perspective). When it's collapsed and you're wrapping it up, it secures with a snap rather than Velcro, in case you have a preference one way or the other. It would be a nice touch to make the trim reflective. Some umbrellas fold in such a way so that the top - the side getting hit by the rain - folds in so that the underside is what you're touching, and it keeps things dry whether you put it on a counter, on your lap, etc. That would be a nice touch to have here. One benefit of the way this one folds is that it is easier to slip it into its cover. The whole family likes it from the kids on up, and I think it's a decent price for what you're getting, especially if the coupon is still on the page.Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.

This is a big umbrella with a 4-foot diameter canopy. It's a little smaller than most golf umbrellas and the build quality is a little lower. Not to say it's not good quality - just not as good as a high-quality golf umbrella. But it's probably less expensive.Unlike most golf umbrellas, this one has an extendable handle. So, it's not made with a single length handle made to fit a golf bag length. This is more of a large everyday umbrella that offers a lot of coverage. The handle extends and contracts for easy storage in your car. And the large canopy, is made from 2 pieces to provide a large venting area - to prevent damage during high wind conditions. The 48" diameter is very comfortable for two. You might be able to squeeze a small child in between if needed. When the canopy is folded down, a strap is provided to keep it tightly bundled and a carrying bag is also provided. In a closed down condition, it is 15" long and about 3 1/4" in diameter. The umbrella is relatively light. With the case I measured mine at 1.13 pounds. There are 10 lightweight struts used to create the frame. Each strut is made from 3 pieces, which are connected with 2 joints. Each strut starts out from the central post as an aluminum piece. It then connects to two plastic extensions which extend it out the edge of the canopy. The plastic extensions are fairly small in diameter and very stiff. The plastic seems fairly flexible. The true test will come if it goes inverted, which I didn't do.The stitching and sewing seem to be very good quality. The canopy fabric is a thin, tight weave synthetic material - it seems about as I would expect. The umbrella auto extends and opens when you push the button on the handle. To close push the button again and the canopy folds but the handle remains expended. When you physically collapse the handle, you reload the tension that will extend the umbrella the next time you use it. The unfurling/furling actions are very smooth and quick. This is a nice quality umbrella available at a reasonable price. Its biggest benefit is the size of the canopy. However, large size umbrellas can be a problem on windy days, so this one is built with a two-part canopy which automatically releases some of the wind pressure the pushing on the canopy. A really nice feature. It folds up for easy storage in your car or shopping cart and is fairly light - so it's not much of a burden to carry with you. And the size is really nice when there are two people looking for shelter on a rainy, windy day. The automatic extension is really nice when you have your hands full.It you're looking for a compact, larger than average umbrella for protecting multiple people or perhaps sheltering someone in a wheelchair, this is a good one to consider. I would recommend it.
