First, I have to admit that I lost one of the bars that keep the kite sturdy. It was super windy when I took it outside and I was having trouble so I took it apart...outside. Dumb. I went to try to figure out my problem back in the house and darn if I could not find the bar. We have both looked several times and can't find it. Ugh. That said, I'll review as best I can. The kit is large and looks to be nice quality. I like that the bars have little reinforce pockets they slip in. The pockets are made of sturdy material, not the lightweight kite material. The kite fabric has a crossgrain type of pattern that I believe is to make it more tear resistant. It seems pretty good. It comes with a swivel hook for attaching to the kite which is nice and helps it not get all tangled at the connection point. The tails, and there are several, are quite long. I think the problem with our previous kite was that the tail was too short. I don't think that will be a problem with this kite.

We were able to fly this kite in 6MPH wind- pretty impressive since it's not a huge delta. The colors on the kids-facing side are bright and the pattern is well printed.The kite is made in China and seems well built and nicely packaged (see photos). The bracing has two short spars up front that connect to permanently mounted metal sleeves that extent the spar into the front wing. The longer back spars have plastic nubs that fit into the black fabric pockets and the center joint. Assembly takes less than 1 minute.The winder is a standard end-over-end type, which isn't great but is appropriate for a small kid kite like this. You might consider a reel type winder if you really want to send it. Still for the good construction, good print and bright colors, this gets 5/5.

This is going to be a gift, so I haven't opened it completely. I'm very impressed with the packaging; it makes a nice presentation. The fabric and bracing are high-quality. The design printing is bright and impressive.

My 3 year old granddaughter as asked for a kite since she first started talking. We took her and her two siblings out with a different kite this past fall, and she absolutely loved it! She promptly asked for her own butterfly kite. The weather turned and so we haven't had a chance to use this one yet, but it is so big and beautiful! The details and the colors are amazing. It was also super easy to put together. It will probably be a few months before we actually get to test it, but it seems well made and feels like it will be easy to fly. I can't wait to see my granddaughters eyes when she finally gets her very own butterfly kite.
