I wanted to try growing my own sprouts so now I can! I have not yet used the jars but they ate good quality mason jars. The mesh top I was thinking would even be potentially good for straining or sifting food items.Happy with the product.

I’ve been sprouting seeds since I found out about it back in 2017 and have used a large variety of sprouting equipment. Back in the day, sprouting kits were not readily available online so I had to make a lot of my own by purchasing mason jars and then cutting out circles from mesh window netting to let air in (yup, those were the days!) This set of two sprouting jars are the perfect beginners kit for making sprouts, which I wish I had when I first started sprouting. All you need are seeds! My favourites are broccoli, alfalfa and crimson clover. For beginners sprouters, soak the seeds for about 4-6 hours and then pour out all the water and turn it upside down to rest on the jar holder. Rinse out the seed twice a day and within 7 days the seeds will turn into sprouts and be ready to eat. I use the cover for the first 4 days and when you start seeing yellow “leaves” on the sprouts then remove the cover to let the light turn the sprouts green for the last 3 days. The quality of this kit is also really good; the only concern I have is whether the mesh will tarnish or rust but only time will tell and I’ll update this review if I see signs of rust over time.
