Valid product that works well initially. After 2-3 months the fiber begins to rot and the indicator no longer functions. Bottom line is change frequently for best performance. Unfortunately they are not cheap.

After using a few dozen of these meters for my house plants over the past more than a year, my review is lukewarm. Some of the pieces are good but many of them are faulty to begin with, or become faulty in less than 6 months. When faulty, they don’t turn white even when the soil becomes dry (there are some we left out in the sun for the whole day and they still stayed blue) or they stay white even when the soil has water. Much better to go with a good quality dip in moisture meter if you don’t want to buy many.

I place many Orchids in the window in my Kitchen. This product helps keep me from over watering. It's a game changer for sure!
