Das Starlink Stativ kam sehr gut verpackt hier an. Es wiegt im Karton 1,43 kg und entspricht damit genau dem beworbenen Artikelgewicht. Ohne Verpackung bringt das Stativ mit allen Anbauteilen 1,3 kg auf die Waage. Die maximale Höhe ist - wie beworben - 1,78 m. Gut nutzbar ist diese Höhe nur bei Windstille, weil die Sache aufgrund der kurzen Dreibeine sehr wackelig wird. Wenn das Dreibein jedoch etwas niedriger eingestellt wird, nimmt es eine größere Standfläche ein und gewinnt entsprechend an Stabiltät. Glücklicherweise stört leichtes Schwanken im Wind beim Starlink-System nicht, die Antenne muß nicht Grad-genau ausgerichtet werden, wie beim Astra-TV-Satellitensystem.Geliefert wird im Prinzip ein Fotostativ mit 1/4 Zoll Gewinde, passend für Fotoapparate. Dazu gibt es zwei Adapter die der Adaptierung der Satellitenantenne dienen. Ein Adapterring hat zwei gegenüberliegende 1/4 Gewindebohrungen. So kann auch ein Handy-Selfieadapter mit 1/4 Zoll Schraube mit dem Stativ genutzt werden.

This is a 1.3kg (including the 100g DF5021 adapter disc) tripod for temporary Starlink installation. The DF5021 converts a Starlink antenna to take a standard quarter-inch camera tripod thread, this attaches to an adjustable tripod head, which in turn attaches to the tripod.The swivel head has a knurled locking collar in the threaded end, so the device on top can be fastened in the desired position; you don't have to drive the bolt in up to the hilt. The head also has internal teeth so will lock in a particular position without needing to be overtightened. Speaking of overtightening, the easiest way to remove the head is to grip the topmost section of pole with one hand and twist the head off with the other.With the 51cm tripod legs splayed out fully for maximum stability, the tripod - with swivel head - can be locked at any height between approx. 56cm and 142cm. Additional height can be gained at the expense of stability, not just because of the narrower footprint, but because the longer the pole, the more the top can sway about. Ideally you'll want the antenna to be low for stability, but with a clear (100 degree) view of the sky.Note that the legs are all of a fixed length and can't be adjusted individually, so this tripod is designed for flat, level ground. If the ground isn't level the pole will lean at an angle.If you're on a trek and need Starlink, then this may be for you, but only if you can guarantee that the ground's level enough. If you want a greater degree of flexibility to deal with uneven ground, you may be better off using the DF5021 disc or an equivalent, with an ordinary camera tripod.On the other hand of course, the fact it has a standard camera thread means this tripod may lend itself to other uses, for example as a GoPro tripod mount for additional backup coverage in a video shoot, or holding up small video lights. This one may end up used as a GoPro mount in our wedding.

When I ordered this, I had misread the description and thought it came with the starlink satellite. It doesn't. However, it's a top-notch, good quality stand that's sturdy, well made, and durable. It's easy to unfold, assemble, and adapt. Now I just need to purchase a starlink satellite dish to fot this. Then this tripod will come in handy when out at families who don't have Internet or have slow Internet. It's a very practical and useful tripod that can aldo mount other things.

Good, sturdy tripod with plenty of stability for its allocated use. Easy to construct and takes up little room. Reasonably lightweight to carry. It's pretty good value for what it is and it does the job well. When not in use, it folds up neatly and again takes very little space to store.
