I pay variable prices for electric energy (Awattar/Austria, HOURLY rated) and have an old, yet well-functioning water boiler (EHT, 140 or 160 L). I have installed the device in line with the normal 16A fuse and use it to remotely control my boiler with the Tuya/ SmartLife App). You can use the app to remotely switch the boiler on and off, but also to set up switching routines (similar to the alarm clock in your phone, only with more options). You can also monitor the power consumption, etc. The only thing you need is a WiFi network at home. Pairing the device with a smartphone is really easy and the app explains it step by step. Ithas worked the first time I tried and I am not a skilled person at all :) Since heating water is one of my primary electricity expenses (yours probably also), I expect the "investment" of EUR 30-ish to pay off within a few months at worst. What I found difficult was to find a confirmation that this is really the device I need, even the product description is not so clear about that. There is also a lot of confusion in YT reviews regarding the "safety" of the device and whether it should even be legal to use it. Regarding this, remember: the device is not a fuse and is must never replace one. A skilled electrician should install it in line with the fuse in order to be safe. Given that you are safe. I totally recommend the product and if you still have a electricity supplier with a fixed rate, please consider changing. Switching to aWattar/ HOURLY and using the TONGOU Circuit breaker/Tuya App has so far almost halved my monthly bill on electricity! Have a great day.
