A useful little gimmick! I inherited a bunch of old knitting needles that have the gauge marking worn off, and this was able to tell me what they actually are. I also appreciated the measurement tool to determine WPI (wraps per inch) of yarn, which I can use to tell what weight yarn I have after it no longer has its label. There are also a couple of built-in tools that seem to be for yarn spinning purposes; I can't quite comment on them as I haven't tried this area thus far, but if I do then it's nice that they are included.The material of this control card is very solid and will definitely not bend or wear, so that's great. It also comes with a nice little chain and catch so I can attach it to whatever I like. My main reason for deducting a star is because I tested the markings with my nail and they were able to be scratched off. It would have been better for the card to be properly embossed so this couldn't happen, as I can see the markings getting scratched off by various items in my knitting bag over time and presenting me with the same problem I've had with the mystery gauge knitting needles.

I really like this little tool. I'm not a great knitter but enjoy getting into the craft once in a while. I've already lost 2 cards that allow one to measure knitting needles so I'm pleased to have this one that includes a clip to attach it to my knitting bag to ensure I don't misplace it so easily. It has both mm and US needle sizes which is nice because some needles and/or patterns only have one or the other. And it also has some other traits that my past needle-sizers didn't have, like something that helps one determine what weight of yarn one is using (eg. Lace Weight or Bulky).I particularly like that it's a sturdy little thing - won't easily be snapped or chipped. I've added a photo letting you see it in profile: it's quite thick!Made in China

No good at all for crochet hooks!I have in-line crochet hooks, not the one's that go pointy at the end (I have very tight tension; in-line helps combat that) so the hook part doesn't go through the holes!!!If you have the traditional style non-in-line plain metal hooks you could stick the other end through I suppose, but all my hooks have some kind of grip/handle/padding so that's a no go too.It's also bigger than I imagined.I've given it two stars not one because I like the WPI wool sizer.

This is much sturdier than I was expecting and is great quality and value for money. Very handy and useful.
