The pricing was good and I only had one project planned that required dovetails….but wish I would have bought a better quality unit. No assembly instructions. No indexing for router guide setback. Stops are poor and are not stable resulting in variability in fit. When stock clamped in place the router guide bows up off of your wood, I had to use a clamp to try and hold it down. Because of the poor build, repeatability is not good. The positive is that they accepted my return. If you want tight joints with repeatability and less hassle, spend a little more and buy another jig.

I am an amateur woodworker and make small household items such as trinket boxes etc in my spare time. I decided to treat my self to a dovetail jig during the Christmas period as nobody had bought me one as a present (hint). When this arrived it appear to be okay but due to the hectic nature of Christmas in my house it didn't get set up until January. on building the jig I noticed that the paint or powder coating of the base which is the black area was already showing signs of blistering. then as I mounted the jig on a board the paint /powder coating blisters started to flake off exposing rusty metal underneath. This is clearly poor quality control on behalf of the company. A couple of other points are:this jig is cheaply made and not very accurate for a job that needs accuracy. All other jigs I have looked at had had measurement points along the side bars etched into the metal, so that the distance for the wood etc can be easily set on both sides. This doesn't have anything like that is is just bare metal, same with the stop blocks on the side (this was where the blistering was at its worst) no marks for setting each side equally. All in all I think you are better paying a little more than this for your jig and getting one that is well made and accurate. I have returned my Jig via amazon for a full refund and will look for a better quality jig.

First off this jig did not come with the template pictured, which looks like the one you would need to cut decent dovetails. Using the template(s) provided I have not been able to cut interlocking dovetails. The tails end up being too narrow to fit the wider pins. Further, setting the correct pin depth is problematic . Also I had to add a spacer board for the vertical locking mechanism for it to lock down the vertical work piece. I don’t recommend this product at all. Don’t waste your money.
