It doesn't take much, but it does take time to decide on and install an OS to this to make full use of this PCIe hat. One of the main benefits is that you can manage traffic using duplex ethernet since this gives you a second RJ45 jack. I found that being able to add a NVME stick to your Raspberry Pi is also a huge benefit in terms of speed and stability. If you can configure this for boot, you can forgo using a microSD card. MicroSD cards corrupt easily (it's a guarantee over time), and using NVME for boot is honestly ideal for a pi.The added USB 3.2 ports is also a great feature. I prefer to have a proper SATA/SAS array for drives, but in terms of a mini nas managed with USB drives, this works very nicely. The portability is nice - I use this at work, and then if I'm traveling for a long time, or setting up my work at home, it travels easily.

Ich verwende die Erweiterungskarte auf eine Pi5 mit 4GB. Das Ganze funktioniert auch ohne Probleme wenn man es mal am laufen hat. Schade, dass der Hersteller keine Dokumentation dazu mitliefert oder zumindest einen Link zu der auf der Seite von Waveshare vorhandenen Doku und Installationsanleitung auf die Verpackung oder einen Beipackzettel druckt.Was für diese Karte auch noch nice wäre: Wenn sie auch noch Power over Ethernet zur Verfügung stellen würde, dann könnte man sich ein externes Netzteil sparen

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)If your Raspberry Pi 5 had a wish list, this Waveshare PCIe to MiniPCIe HAT would be at the top. I mean, it's basically a Swiss Army knife for your Pi—turning it into a networking beast. With USB 3.2 Gen1, Gigabit Ethernet, and compatibility with MiniPCIe 4G modules, this thing is ready to roll out faster than I roll out of bed on a Monday.Setting it up was surprisingly easy (even for someone like me who considers “plug-and-play” to be the holy grail of tech). The build quality feels solid enough, and it definitely gives my Raspberry Pi the boost it deserves. High-speed networking and multiple OS support? Yes, please.At $39, it’s honestly a pretty decent deal. I’ve seen pricier expansion boards that barely do half of what this does. If I had one gripe, it’s that the documentation could use a little polish. But hey, what’s a Pi project without a bit of googling?All in all, 4/5 stars—it’s versatile, useful, and priced just right.
