Avevo un HD Seagate da 5 TB esterno di qualche anno fa che non dava segni di vita, ho immaginato dunque che fosse solo il ponticello rotto, quello che collega l'hd all'usb. L'ho smontato e collegato ad un cavo adattatore sata-usb, ma, nonostante l'hd girasse, il Mac non riusciva a vederlo. Ho fatto il tentativo estremo comprando questa dock station e il miracolo si è avverato: hard disk ripartito e leggibile. Probabilmente perché il cavo che avevo non supporta capacità di 5 TB, mentre questo che ho acquistato supporta fino a 20TB. Consigliatissimo, oltre a funzionare bene ha anche un bel design.

Bon, ce genre de station est sympa pour deux choses. D'abord pour lire des disques, que ça soit du SSD ou du HDD. Mais surtout, pour faire de la "maintenance" sans besoin d'un ordinateur. Copier le contenu d'un disque vers un autre peut s'avérer être un bon moyen de transférer votre système d'exploitation vers un autre pc pour en faire une copie, évidemment.En ça l'article est plutôt bien fait, évidemment c'est faisable sans connexion à un PC (Mais pas sans prise, évidemment). et on a des leds qui indiquent le taux d'avancement de la copie, déclenchée par un bouton simple. Je n'ai pas fait de tests de débit entre un PC et la station, mon PC est trop vieux pour le standard de l'USB 3.0. Mais il n'y a pas de raison que ça ne marche pas....

This is a pretty good idea and device. I’ve used external enclosures before but none have had a cloning ability. I find myself cloning my hard drives a lot as a change machines and builds and this makes life easier.It’s also great for the less experienced. No windows software to deal with and actually needing an active PC. It really clones with a click and it’s done. Well, it takes a fair while but that’s based on the drives you use.This can take old 3.5 HDD and 2.5 HDD or SSDs. You can use it as a normal external enclosures before as well and access information on the drives. The quality is good and I’d expect this to last a while.Overall it’s good for the cost, especially when you consider the cloning capability. I’m happy with it.

Worked perfectly to do a whole lot of shuffling and transferring off half a dozen old hard drives without the hassle of plugging and plugging them in to internal cables. I only wish I had more need to use it, but glad it will be there next time I need to upgrade my PC or internal hard drives! 100% recommend.
