Geht gar nicht . Da ist ein Teppich vor der Stereobühne . Der Ton ist angenehm , aber die Verfärbung ist zu doll . Ich habe jetzt an meinem Klein und Hummel ES 60 Verstärker zwei alte , ramponierte Klein und Hummelboxen hängen . Mit nur 35 Watt pro Box geht hier mehr ab als mit der Wharfedale .

I purchased a pair of Dentons back in 2017. After taking a hiatus from audio after adopting 4 kids, I needed a small speaker for my new listening room and these fit the bill. The price was also reasonable. I paired them with my mid-70s Yamaha CA-800 integrated amp and they sounded great! Excellent midrange (especially given the price) and adequate bass for my listening taste- classical and jazz. I later was able to snag a pair of vintage Dynaudio Focus 110 which were a bit more $$$. In comparing the two they were pretty close with the nod going to the Dynaudio's more defined and extended hi-end as it should considering the 110's new cost was about 3x the Denton. I gave the Yamaha/Denton to my son who still listens to them. The Yammie was replaced by a vintage Accuphase E202. WOW!!! At 70, my hearing ain't so great anymore, but I still appreciate the Dentons in my sons system. For the bucks, they are hard to beat.

Im Vergleich zu den von mir zuvor ein Jahr lang genutzten Denton 85 sind die Denton 80 nicht anstrengend, da hier die Höhen dezenter ausfallen, was der Langzeit-Tauglichkeit beim Hören zu Gute kommt. Bei der Denton 85 fiel dafür die Bühne etwas weiträumiger aus. Das sind aber Nuancen und machen die Nachteile der Denton 85 nicht wett.2. Verarbeitung: Die Lautsprecher sind hochwertig verarbeitet und sehen mit ihrem klassischen Design einfach fantastisch aus. Das Echtholzfurnier verleiht ihnen einen edlen Touch. Anschlüsse für Bi-Wiring sind vorhanden und die Abdeckungen sind abnehmbar (ideal sind angewinkelte Plastik Fahrrad Reifenheber, die das Holz nicht beschädigen).3. Einspielzeit: Out of the box klingen die Lautsprecher zunächst etwas “nasal” bzw. als läge ein Schleier über den Chassis. Das gibt sich aber bereits nach den ersten 20 Stunden, nach weiteren 20-30 Stunden sind die elektrischen Bauteile sowie die Chassis eingespielt.4. Aufstellung: Ich habe die Lautsprecher auf Ständern des Herstellers Solidsteel Modell S6 auf ca. 65 cm Höhe stehen. Ggf. wären sogar 75 cm Höhe sinnvoll, da die Lautsprecher wirklich klein sind, aber das hängt natürlich auch von der Sitzhöhe ab. Der Wandabstand von exakt 40 cm hat sich bei mir als ideal herausgestellt. Dabei habe ich die Lautsprecher in einem Abstand von ca. 250 cm zueinander aufgestellt. Der Abstand zur Hörposition beträgt ca. 300 cm und ich habe die Lautsprecher nur ganz leicht zur Sitzposition eingedreht (ca. 10 Grad).5. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis: Wir sprechen hier von einem Paarpreis, bei dem ich i.d.R. bei anderen Herstellern noch nicht einmal eine (!) Lautsprecherbox kaufen kann. In Anbetracht der Klangqualität und Verarbeitung sind die Denton 80 meiner Meinung nach ein echtes Schnäppchen und vermutlich nicht mehr lange erhältlich, da es sich hier bereits um Restposten handelt.Fazit:Die Wharfedale Denton 80 sind für alle empfehlenswert, die einen klassischen Klang bevorzugen, der nicht auf Effekte abzielt und die eine hochwertige Verarbeitung schätzen. Die Denton 80 eignen sich perfekt für kleinere bis mittelgroße Räume und liefern ein beeindruckendes Klangerlebnis auch an kleineren Verstärkern (ab 20 Watt an 6 Ohm bzw. ca. 40 Watt an 8 Ohm). Ein REGA IO (hatte ich damit getestet, passt auch preislich) oder Naim Nait 50 (ok, der passt preislich nicht) sind tolle Spielpartner. Bei mir funktioniert ein TEAC AX-505 super. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

No one can tell you what you like.Buy a few and return what you don’t like.The Dentons were beautiful to look at but gave me listening fatigue in mere minutes…But, YOU may love them.

I like these speakers, they take a while to break in. They are a 7/10 sound quality for the money. I don’t think the seller does a good job. Their return policy is buried in the listing. I wanted to try them out and return them but it was going to cost over $100 for shipping and they wouldn’t work with me. I’d buy from Crutchfield.

This is my first decent pair of speakers. So I have little reference, but I enjoy the sound very much. It has a very full sound signature with decent bass for the size. I use them in a flat in room about 20mm2. In this setup even with a low power vintage akai amplifier they get quite loud. I can recommend them, but again if you can test them beforehand as your experience may vary.

I don't normally review things, because I figure people will buy what they want to buy, regardless of my humble opinion. After all, as Ferris Bueller so eloquently inquired, "who am I?" However, in this case, I had to make an exception. These speakers surpassed my expectation and then some. I've been wanting to put together a 2-channel budget audiophile system for some time now, but I wanted speakers that had a nice aesthetic, not the typical black/faux black veneer you see on most speakers. Vintage was the preferred look, but most vintage speakers on the used market are well worn and may need a bit of work before they're ready. Then I came across these. I liked the look, but the price was a bit steep for me, or at least what I wanted to pay. But, I liked the look. So, I started doing some research. I will tell you now that you won't find much, if anything that looks this nice for this price point, that has the impedance, frequency range, or response. You might find a bit of this, or that, or pay a lot more, but there isn't anything that I could find that matched these specs. Long story short, the speakers arrived yesterday. The speaker wire arrived today. I hooked them up to a NAD 316BEE 2-Channel 40W Amp, and these things are amazing. The clarity is outstanding and there's even a fair amount of bass. Angle them to your seat, chair, or couch, and you'll be enveloped by the sound. It's incredible. Listening to your library, is like hearing most of the songs for the first time. And, you'll definitely be able to tell which bands/labels spent some extra time in the studio. Keep in mind these aren't 12" subs, so you won't be shattering any glass or winning any competitions at your block party, but for a small room these round out a budget audiophile system quite nicely. If you're an audiophile, or better yet, just starting out, I think you'll be hard pressed to beat these.

I am blown away by these speakers. I did quite a bit of research before purchasing, but without hearing them, it was hard to pull the trigger with so many options out there. I am extremely impressed with the Dentons. I am a self professed audiophile wannabe, but due to budget constraints, haven't had that much experience with high quality speakers. These have exceeded whatever expectations I may have had. The sound stage is so incredible, my dog seems to be having a hard time discerning all the sounds he (or I) have never heard in albums that have been played many many times. He keeps twitching his head around, trying to figure out where the sounds are coming from, as the sound stage truly makes everything 3 dimensional. I am listening to Paul Weller Stanley Road on vinyl right now and it's absolutely a whole other level listening experience, and I've listening to this album hundreds of times. As others mentioned, the bass is exceptional. Even though it's been commented on I still didn't believe it would be quite as revelatory. I have it paired with an old silver faced Pioneer sx-780 and the Advent loudspeakers on the "b" channel, hell of a combo. Final thoughts; I have the setup in my living room which is mid century modern furniture, the walnut matches perfectly with the Danish furniture. Online, the red mahogany looks better but the Walnut looks fantastic in person. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. $500 isn't something to sneeze at, but these BLOW AWAY the Polk's I replaced (can't remember the model #, but run $280 on Amazon), they weren't not even close, as nice as those were in their own way. I highly recommend these, again exceeded my expectations!!
