I bought this to help maintain a consistent scope eye relief distance and a sun shade. It does okay at both but I found it made it a little difficult for my eye to line up centrally on the retical due to its flexible/convoluted nature causing parralax inconsitency for me. So, I ended up inserting a 55-60mm length of 35mm O/D plastic plumbing pipe (sprayed black) through it when it's attached to my scope. This gave it the rigidity I needed to line up on the reticle and a tuned eye relief length perfect for my eye.
